Cesafinews | Negros Oriental’s new facility will house sixty dialysis devices | DUMAGUETE CITY – Gov. Manuel Sagarbarria of Negros Oriental will help break ground on Thursday for the PHP100 million, two-story building that will house the province’s new dialysis center. The center will have 60 new dialysis machines to help more people with kidney disease.
Sagarbarria told the press on Wednesday that the building should be done by the end of the year so that more people in the province with kidney disease can be treated.
The governor said that donors have promised to give the local government 60 dialysis machines, which are now waiting to be moved to the new center.
Sagarbarria said, “There are only 10 dialysis machines at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH) right now, and there are at least 200 people on the list every day who can’t be helped.”
The governor said that once the new building is up and running, it will be able to handle at least 180 patients every day because they have decided to work in three shifts.
He also said that the dialysis tools that are already in use will be given to the local government units that need them the most.
The building of the dialysis center will start on Thursday, which is also the day of two other events.
At the county hospital, they are cutting the ribbon for the new wing and the new diagnostics lab. The new part of the hospital has 20 rooms and rooms for treatment.
In the diagnostics lab, on the other hand, new blood chemistry tools arrived on Wednesday after being tested in a dry run.
Sagarbarria said that all of these projects and new ideas are part of his government’s plan to help poor people get better health care for almost no cost through the Universal Health Care system.
The governor took office in June, and on Friday, September 8, he will give his State of the Province speech. This will be his 100th day in office. (via PNA)
