Cesafinews | Himamaylan City’s building project for government workers | BACOLOD CITY – Negros Occidental’s City of Himamaylan wants to work with the National Home Mortgage Finance Corp. (NHMFC) to pay for the current construction of housing units in Barangay 3 Poblacion for government workers.

In a Monday statement, Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson Jr. said that he had met with NHMFC head Renato Tobias to talk about ways that the Himamaylan Socialized Housing Project could be carried out with the help of other groups.

“I’m looking forward to something good happening with our proposal.” “This collaboration will definitely help repay our hardworking government workers for making sure that Himamaylanons get good service,” he said.

On February 8, officials from the NHMFC looked over the project, which includes building 500 duplex-style homes.

The housing project for the city government under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program, which is a partnership between the city government and the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD), will also be built on the same site.

Tongson said last month that the first part of the project would cost about PHP5.5 billion and include building 3,000 condo-style homes.

“They should break ground within a year,” Tongson said.

Tongson signed an agreement with DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar in October of last year to make it clear that the city government wanted to start the 4PH program. (via PNA)
