PhilHealth disburses over P300-B in benefit claims in 2025
MANILA — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) reported that benefit payments nationwide surpassed PHP300 billion in 2025, marking a sharp rise in disbursements to both private and government healthcare facilities.
Data based on issued checks and advice of payment showed that PhilHealth released PHP300.45 billion in benefit claims from January to December 2025.
Private health facilities received the larger share at PHP177.70 billion, while government hospitals were paid PHP122.75 billion during the period.
The total represents an 81.72 percent increase compared to benefit payments in 2024, which reached PHP165.34 billion.
In the previous year, PhilHealth disbursed PHP74.02 billion to private healthcare providers and PHP91.32 billion to government hospitals.
PhilHealth said the significant rise in payments highlights its ongoing commitment to the prompt settlement of benefit claims and to strengthening financial risk protection for its members.
The state health insurer also reiterated its focus on expanding access to quality healthcare services nationwide while continuing to support both public and private healthcare providers. (PNA)
